Chukar Culture Press was founded on the conviction that writing about the natural world — about hunting, land, dogs, memory, and the people who cherish and notice as much of all that that they can — deserves the same literary attention as any other subject.
We are a small press. We publish deliberately and slowly. Our books are printed on demand through Lulu’s global distribution network, which means no warehouses, no remainders, and no minimums — just books, made when someone wants one, shipped directly to them.
We welcome queries from writers working in literary nonfiction, fiction, and oral history, particularly work rooted in the American West or in hunting and conservation culture.
